Questions,
answered calmly.

The questions people ask us most, in one place: plans and licenses, AI providers and what they cost, what the plugin does and what it deliberately doesn’t, and how your data is handled. Not here? Ask your own question at the bottom of this page, or write to us and a human answers within two business days.

Getting started

Not at all. Everything is managed from a clean WordPress dashboard. No coding, no terminal, no technical expertise required.

Install the plugin on your WordPress site, click Connect License and sign in with your SEO & Chill account, connect your preferred AI provider’s API key, and you’re ready to go in minutes. The quick-start guide walks you through it.

With a plan, updates arrive like any plugin’s: you’ll see a notification in your WordPress dashboard when a new version is available, and one click on Update Now brings the latest features and fixes. On the free version, download the newest version from your dashboard.

No. The plugin is built for performance. AI tasks run in the background via a queue system, and responses are cached to avoid redundant API calls and keep your site fast.

SEO & Chill works at the WordPress level. Posts, pages and custom post types. Independent of your theme or builder. The integrations page has the full picture.

You can install both, but only one of them works at a time. While Yoast or Rank Math is active, SEO & Chill waits and changes nothing: two SEO plugins would give every page conflicting titles, descriptions and canonical URLs. To switch, deactivate the other plugin on the Plugins screen, and SEO & Chill takes over. Its Home screen then offers to bring over the titles and descriptions you set per post or page. The honest differences are in the Yoast and Rank Math comparisons.

Your titles, descriptions and redirects live in your WordPress database. Once you switch off Yoast or Rank Math, the Home screen of SEO & Chill offers to bring over the titles and descriptions you set per post or page, and the pages you hid from search engines. Redirects, focus keywords, social images and the titles of categories and tags don’t come along. From other SEO plugins nothing comes along. Nothing is deleted by installing or uninstalling either plugin.

Plans, licenses and billing

Yes. Without a plan you get Home with your site score, the SEO box, schema, XML sitemaps, llms.txt, redirects, the 404 monitor and Old links. Create a free account and download it from your dashboard. AI writing, the research tools, bulk runs and updates in one click come with a paid plan, with the 14-day refund policy as your safety net: if a real defect can’t be fixed with support, you get your money back.

The free version needs no trial: it keeps working without a plan. AI writing starts with Basic at $29/year, on your own API key from any supported provider, and every plan carries a 14-day refund policy for defects that support can’t fix.

Basic adds AI writing for one site: Meta Writer and Alt Text, by hand or on publish and upload, and updates in one click. Pro adds Keyword Research, Content Advisor and Outlines, the site audit, bulk runs in AI Writer, AI Internal Links and AI schema suggestions in the editor. Agency covers up to 10 websites and adds White Label and audit exports (CSV and a print-ready report). The SEO groundwork is in the free version. Side by side on the pricing page.

Basic and Pro cover one website each; licenses are domain-based and re-assignable. The Agency plan covers up to 10 websites and adds White Label: your brand name in the plugin, the editor box and the audit report. We switch it on for you; the WordPress menu keeps our name.

Yes, anytime, from your account. Every change starts right away: for an upgrade you pay the difference for the rest of your period, and after a downgrade the unused part becomes credit on your next invoice. Switching from yearly to monthly goes through support.

Through Stripe: checkout from the pricing page, receipts and invoices from Stripe, self-service card updates and cancellation via the customer portal. No emails needed to leave.

Your plugin keeps working until the end of the paid period, then falls back to the free version: Home, the SEO box, schema, sitemaps and redirects keep working; AI writing and updates in one click stop. Your content, meta and redirects are yours and stay in WordPress. We never hold data hostage.

Yes. A 14-day window from purchase. If the software has a real defect that support can’t fix with you, you get your money back. It doesn’t cover change of mind or ranking expectations. Full conditions in the Refund Policy.

AI providers and costs

Yes. You connect your own key from any supported provider. That keeps your costs transparent (you pay the provider directly, no markup) and your data relationship direct.

SEO & Chill supports 10 providers: OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, Groq, Mistral, xAI Grok, OpenRouter, Moonshot, and Custom: any OpenAI-compatible service on a public HTTPS address. You bring your own key and pay the provider directly; we add no markup on tokens.

Nothing to us. You connect your own API key and pay your provider directly. Built-in caching and rate limits keep those costs small.

Anytime, from a dropdown in settings. No migration, no re-setup. Your content and configuration stay untouched.

Yes, if you run the model yourself on a server with a public HTTPS address. The Custom provider talks to any OpenAI-compatible service there, and your content never reaches an outside vendor. It refuses localhost and private network addresses on purpose, so http://localhost:11434 won’t work. Our API keys page explains why.

Rate limits per minute and per day, response caching (1 hour) and throttled bulk runs. Your site has one daily AI limit, counted in requests, under AI Settings: when it is used up, AI stops until midnight in the time zone of your site and says so, and Requests Today shows how many went out. For a limit in money, set one at your AI provider. Users who are not administrators get 50 AI requests a day; an administrator can change that under AI Settings.

What it does, and what it doesn’t

No. It researches keywords and builds complete heading-structured outlines, and you write the words. Your voice is why readers come back; we handle the structure and the metadata around it.

Not built in, and Keyword Research has no ranking or search-volume data either. The site score is the average SEO score of your posts and pages; for positions, use Google Search Console next to it.

With the groundwork, yes. Your posts, pages and products get structured data and a meta description, which AI answer engines build on, and your site serves an llms.txt for the AI tools that read one. Nobody can guarantee a citation in an AI answer, and we don’t either: here’s what we do and don’t promise.

No. It lists them, the most important first, each with a button to the fix. On Pro, a bulk run in AI Writer can then fill a whole group of empty fields at once, when you start it. Two things do run by themselves: when a page gets a new address, Old links sends visitors of the old one on to the new one; and if you switch it on, AI fills in empty meta on publish and alt text on upload.

No. It suggests 3 to 5 pages, each with anchor text and a match score, and you add the links yourself. That keeps editorial control where it belongs and means no surprise edits on client sites.

Not by default: a bulk run fills only empty fields, and looks again right before it writes, so a field someone filled in meanwhile stays. Regenerate existing and Optimize Low Scores do rewrite what is there, and a bulk run saves straight to your posts, without undo. Make a backup first if you want a way back, and check the results post by post. Coming from Yoast or Rank Math? Import first: a run leaves the titles and descriptions you can still bring over.

It writes in your site language, as set in WordPress under Settings, General. Twenty languages are recognized, such as English, German, French, Spanish and Dutch. Other site languages, and variants such as Belgian Dutch or Swiss German, get English.

Privacy and security

Yes. API keys are stored encrypted in your database with libsodium, the modern encryption library built into PHP. Your keys only go to the AI provider you choose, never to us.

Your content goes directly from your server to the AI provider you connected, under your own API agreement with that provider. We are never in that data path. Whether a provider trains on API traffic is governed by their terms; most major providers do not train on API data by default, but verify this in your provider’s policy.

The minimum needed to validate a license: your site’s connection token, the domain it’s activated on and the plugin version. Like any web request, it also sees your server’s IP address, which we keep with the activation. No site content, no analytics, no personal data of your visitors.

There is nothing to sign. And nothing missing. The Data Processing Addendum is public and automatically forms part of the Terms for every customer, which satisfies Art. 28 GDPR. If your auditor or client asks, point them to the public DPA plus your order confirmation.

Everything the plugin created. Meta, redirects, schema settings. Lives in your WordPress database and stays there. On our side, license and billing records are retained only as long as legally required, then deleted. More in the Trust center.

Stop doing SEO manually: without giving up on quality.

Let it fill in what’s missing. You check. It types.
