What happens automatically

SEO & Chill looks for these SEO plugins: Yoast SEO, Yoast SEO Premium, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress, The SEO Framework and Slim SEO. While one of them is active, SEO & Chill waits and changes nothing: two SEO plugins would give every page conflicting titles, descriptions and canonical URLs. A notice in your WordPress admin names the plugin and tells you how to switch it off.

Seeing duplicate meta tags anyway?

While SEO & Chill waits, it adds nothing to your pages, so a second set of meta tags comes from somewhere else. Once SEO & Chill runs, a second set means another plugin or your theme prints them as well, for example an SEO plugin that is not on the list above.

1. Deactivate that plugin, or turn off its meta tags in its own settings.
2. View your page source again; each tag should appear once.

Migrating from another SEO plugin

Install SEO & Chill; it waits while the old plugin is active. When you are ready, deactivate the old plugin on the Plugins screen and SEO & Chill takes over. Coming from Yoast SEO or Rank Math? The Home screen of SEO & Chill then offers to bring over the titles and descriptions you set per post or page, and the pages you hid from search engines. Redirects, focus keywords, social images and the titles of categories and tags don’t come along.
