Why refresh beats producing
A maintained 2024 post outranks an abandoned one and costs a fraction of a new article. Search engines reward freshness signals on content that already has authority. Refreshing is the highest-ROI content work most sites skip.
The routine
Audit (10 min). Dashboard → Action Center. Do the top three items, whatever they are.
Pick refresh targets (10 min). Content Insights shows low word counts and keyword clashes; pick two or three posts that used to perform.
Refresh (45 min). Update facts, dates and screenshots. Re-run the analyzer, regenerate the meta description if the content changed materially. Keep the URL.
Interlink (10 min). Run link suggestions on the refreshed posts. New internal links tell crawlers something changed here.
Close the laptop. The Health Score you end on is next month’s baseline.
Cannibalization check
While in the dashboard, glance at the keyword cannibalization table. Two pages sharing a keyword? Merge them, or re-point one at an adjacent keyword. Splitting the vote helps neither.
