Supported providers

SEO & Chill ships with ten providers: OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral AI, Groq, xAI Grok, OpenRouter, Moonshot Kimi, and Custom: any OpenAI-compatible service on a public HTTPS address. You bring your own API key and can switch providers anytime from a dropdown. No migration.

Connecting a provider

1. Create an API key in your provider’s console (for example platform.openai.com or console.anthropic.com).
2. In WordPress, open SEO & Chill → Settings → AI.
3. Select your provider, paste the key, and click Test and save. The key is saved only when the test works.
4. Choose a Model from the dropdown, or type any custom model ID. Your choice is saved per provider.
5. There is no Save button: every other change is saved right away.

Your key is encrypted with libsodium before storage and is only sent to the provider you connected, never to us. A model on your own server

For a private setup, choose Custom and point it at any OpenAI-compatible service on a public HTTPS address, such as a model on your own server. Your content then never reaches an outside vendor. The plugin only connects over https and refuses localhost and private network addresses, such as http://localhost:11434 or http://192.168.x.x:1234, also behind a name that points there. That check stops a stolen key being used to probe the inside of your network. The API keys page has the detail.

Cost controls

Three mechanisms keep API costs predictable: per-provider rate limits (per minute and per day), a response cache that stores successful answers so repeated calls never hit the API within the cache window, and a background queue that spreads bulk work into small batches. Settings → AI also has one daily AI limit for the whole site, counted in requests: when it is used up, AI stops until midnight and says so. For a limit in money, set one at your provider.
